Master’s Students
Master’s Students
For MSc students, the program includes 45 hours of mandatory academic modules covering nanoparticle synthesis, analytical characterization, purification, and biological environments, complemented by 15 hours of elective coursework, for a total of 60 hours. Students also complete 15 hours of mandatory hands-on workshops and 15 hours of elective workshops exploring topics such as microfluidics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and plasmonics, for a total of 30 hours of practical training.
A mobility internship of at least one month in the laboratory of a co-supervisor is required within the first four academic terms. This placement provides an opportunity for cross-institutional collaboration and culminates in the development of a collaborative research plan and a follow-up report. MSc students also complete a 4-to 8-month industrial training internship with a partner company in the nanomedicine sector, under the supervision of an industry mentor.
Throughout the program, students are expected to participate in at least 50% of ICARE-Nanomed webinars and Annual Research Days and complete three professional development modules offered through Mitacs or their host institution. Together, these activities help trainees develop the scientific, technical, and professional skills needed to successfully transition into the workforce.
