Balancing laboratory communication skills and remote training
Several workshops within the ICARE-Nanomed curriculum require in-person participation to provide trainees with hands-on laboratory experience. Many of these activities, already offered at participating institutions, will be adapted into intensive two-day workshops that integrate practical training with assessment components. Workshops will be offered twice annually, with selected sessions organized as satellite activities during the Annual Research Days.
These in-person workshops are an important component of the training program, providing opportunities for trainees to develop practical skills while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and a strong sense of community across the consortium. Postdoctoral fellows and research associates will also contribute actively to the delivery and facilitation of these sessions. While on-site participation is strongly encouraged, ICARE-Nanomed recognizes that personal or logistical circumstances may limit some trainees’ ability to travel. When needed, alternative arrangements will be provided to ensure equitable access to training opportunities
